Believe in Yourself, Even if Others Do Not
I can’t tell you how many times I run into people that live with self doubt. It’s amazing actually…I would almost go as far as to say that 4 out of 5 people I meet have self doubt written on their foreheads. A lot of these people grew up with parents that never supported them in their dreams, never helped them with decisions and never told them they were proud of them. This is the main factor that has kids growing up with self doubt.
The other part is a traumatizing experience, a broken relationship with the opposite sex, their parents getting a divorce or even their high school teacher telling them they are worthless and won’t get anywhere in life.
The one thing that the teachers don’t realize is that these small phrases stick with people for the rest of their lives. They brand themselves as failures before they even try do something of value. How do you know whether or not you can do it if you haven’t even tried yet?
What you need to do if you feel that self doubt is creeping up on you or already has a grip on your life is:
1. Turn it into the FUEL of your fire.
2. Use it as motivation to finish what you started.
3. Show yourself that you can do it.
That’s what I do. If someone says, “You can’t do that.” I show them that I can. I don’t doubt myself for one minute and neither should you. We have all gone through rough patches and made some canny decisions through life, but that shouldn’t hold you back. You should press into yourself, get motivated and do what you want to do. (Don’t get me wrong. This doesn’t count for doing idiotic things like: jumping off a roof, diving off a cliff etc. DON’T DO IT! Haha)
Life is there to be lived. So believe in yourself, because if you do, you have already accomplished more than most people would in their lifetimes.
